Hello Crone,
Yes, I heard this one on the radio today and thought I'd look it up on youtube and sure enough there it was! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love my oldies!

I was a child of the 70s myself! ah, those were some great years. Most of your 70s stuff brings back memories. Was this one of the one-hit songs of the 70s? I certainly remember the tune.

Me too, I heard it on the radio a few days before I posted it and thought I'd share it since it was an oldie but goodie. Thank you for coming by Dixie.

Hey Gal, Check into this song. Like James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" I believe this was a true story song. Taylor's girl friend OD'd on drugs, hence, "Fire and Rain".
"Just yesterday morning, they let know me you were gone. Susanne the plans they made put an end to you."
I believe Jacks' song was also a biography, of sorts. All artists do their lives, eventually.
John Denver-"Rocky Mountain high" Neil Daimond-"Brooklyn Roads". (You can FEEL his heartache) Jim Croce-"I've got a name". (I really am somebody!) Loretta Lynn-"Coal miner's daughter". (How she lived through it!) Mick Jagger-"Sympathy for the Devil". (He knew he had been 'rock's bad boy'. He was saying: "I am somebody else"! Good for you Mick!) Rick Nelson-"Garden Party" (Rick was the reluctant 'teen idol') Whether it's Pink, or Amy Whinehouse, or Kid Rock, they eventually pure out their creative hearts. They lay open their wounds. It is excellent therapy for them. They all need that. Joe

thanks for stoppin' bye.
BUT thank GOD I also had the Beatles' "Michelle" to counteract the moroseness of "Seasons!"
And about the candy cigarettes...OY VEY! Yeh, and I remember going to the Benjamin Franklin drug store and mom actually buying me bubble gum cigars.
What were you thinking!
Fortunately I ended up hating smoking despite her attempts to indoctrinate me in the ways of nicotine!
Just kidding!
Michele aka Rubble !
